Beautiful Window Installation in Cumming
Jul 16, 2020Challenge
Visionaire Windows sets the standard for window installation in Atlanta. We use methods for window replacements that very few, if any, other window replacement companies use. These AAMA methods set us apart and make us stand out from the rest. Whenever we come across a project with aluminum windows or older vinyl windows that were installed with a nailing fin, we install the new windows with a nailing fin. This process requires more time but is the far superior method. 95% of our competition rips the old window out and slides a box frame window in with a little foam wrap, a bead of caulk, and slaps some metal capping around it. I know they claim that it is maintenance free, but nothing is truly maintenance free. When the windows were originally installed with a fin, why would you change the method. It has been proven that a nail-fin installation (or New Construction install, as it is sometimes referred to) is the far superior way of installing these types of projects because you can ensure that no water will get in.
Solution
This process does require more time and finess to carefully remove the old trim, or in this case vinyl siding, to expose the nailing fin and carefully remove the old window. Darren did a fantastic job removing the vinyl siding to give Cameron enough room to install the window and the WeatherBloc flashing. As you can see from the pictures, this process is extensive but clearly a far superior to the sub-par methods that are widely accepted by other companies. We are going to continue to do things above and beyond what our competition considers acceptable and continue to set the example of superior service and customer satisfaction.
